Hair Transplants

Hair loss is very common in the community and can significantly affect an individuals confidence. The most common type of hair loss is a hereditary condition that happens with ageing. This is known as androgenic alopecia or male-pattern baldness and female-pattern baldness. It occurs slowly and in a specific pattern - for men it is seen as a receding hairline or bald spots and in women can be thinning along the crown. At Papillon we provide consultations with a doctor that can assess your individual situation and discuss the option. We also have the state of the art Hair Transplantation ARTAS Robot that uses the newest technology to transplant your own hair follicles to the areas of baldness.

The ARTAS Robotic Procedure is a minimally invasive hair restoration solution that leverages digital imaging and precision robotics to harvest healthy grafts for transplantation.

With the ARTAS Robotic procedure the individual grafts look natural.  Previous techniques included cutting a strip of scalp from the sides or the back which often led to a scar that was visible.  This also led to a longer recovery time.

The old fashioned hair plugs involved the harvesting of large patches of hair that resulted in an awkward and unnatural appearance once they were implanted.  The ARTAS Robotic System uses its computer-assisted robotic arm and digital mapping to pinpoint hair groupings as they naturally grow in the donor area. This process provides the doctor micron level control and unparalleled precision in designing a natural looking head of hair and a natural hairline.  It enables unmatched precision and accuracy so that doctors are able to extract healthy robust hairs for optimal growth.

The ARTAS Robotic Procedure uses your own permanent growing hair, typically from the back of your head, and the doctor then implants this hair to the thinning areas of your scalp.  As this hair is not susceptible to the conditions that cause male pattern baldness, transplanted hair will last a lifetime.

The procedure usually takes from four to eight hours depending on the number of grafts required to achieve your goals.  You are comfortably seated for the procedure and the staff are with you the entire time to ensue your comfort.

Recovery from this procedure is relatively short compared to others as there is no surgical wound and no sutures. Usually you can return to work within 1-2 days.
